Default Which Octane Gas AFTER Installing Dynojet Power Commander?

Hey All!

I know I'm supposed to use 87 octane fuel.

Does this change after adding a Power Commander with the correct MAP?

Just wondering if the extra timing, different a/f mixture, etc, needs a higher octane fuel.

Thanks in advance!

If you advanced the timing then their might be a need to run a higher octane just to make your engine more efficient since its gonna start burning sooner. But that depends on if the map and if it was all done with 87 octane in mind or if the map would be optimized with 89 or 93. If you just downloaded a map from dynojet im sure youll be good with 87 still so i wouldnt worry about it unless you get engine knock, which im assuming you arent otherwise you wouldve mentioned.

If it doesnt feel right or if you really want to fill up with 89 and see if it runs better go ahead. But usually the difference is just in peoples heads so keep in that in mind if you do compare.
