Default NOOB to the F4i help?

finally washed my 06' and the grommets on the bottom of the fuel tank rails came loose. i had to slide em off because the tank isn't close enough to frame to make em stay. seems honds used some cheap *** double sided tape to hold em on. is it ok if i leave them off because i see no way to put em back on? i tried to rock the tank. i don't think the tank could contact the frame rail because there's about 3/8" clearance on both sides. anybody else have these pieces of crap come loose? what do you guys think? i don't want to damage the tank or frame. thanks a lot

I never had double sided tape on mine and they were big enough to hold themselves on when I tightened the tank down. I dont know what would be wrong with yours.

mine are too small to hold themselves down. they were stuck to the tank with some crappy super thin double-sided tape. must be a design change for the 06's as this bike was fresh out the crate. i think i can run without em though. i don't even know why honda bothered to put em on. they came loose while i was gently washing the bike with a soft mit. japanese and thier freakin glue[sm=boosign.gif]

Mine are just pushed on ('05 model). No double sided tape. Mine also don't come close to touching the frame. I'd just push them back on and keep an eye on them.

i figued out a way to make em stay in place. i just doubled a small piece of electricians mastic tape then wedeged it in the crease where the tank fits then slid em down the tank edges untill they were located where they were before they came loose. now thier snug as a bug between the tank lip and the frame rails. i'll bet ya 04' through 06's use the double sided crap adhesive from the factory[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
