no spark to 4 cylinders
i think the root of the problem is the battery - won't charge to above 12.2V. a new one is on order but i was simply wondering if this could be the cause to not having spark to any of the 4 plugs. motor cranks over a few times and relatively slowly too. should i be seeing spark no matter how slow it cranks?
what do you think the problem is?

Spark has nothing to do with engine turning over slow...Spark is just there to ignite the gasoline. If you took all 4 coils off the sprak plugs and left the spark plugs screwed into the clylinder, it would still tunn over normal, but it wouldnt crank....To me the slow turn over means the battery just doesnt have enough juice to turn it over. Maybe loose terminal on the posts or maybe just the bad battery.....Bad coil packs will stop the fire, but RARELY will they all 4 go out at one time....I'd go for the battery first, since the morot is turning slow. IF that doesnt fix it, i'm sure we can dig a little deeper....=-)
Process of elimination, and ALWAYS go with the obvious first....=-)

I have the same problem and cannot figure it out to save my life. I got a new stator, and bypassed the bank angle sensor, and have checked the kill and ignition switches which were good. Im pissed. If you fixed yours please help me out.
I'd be putting my money on the battery. Have you measured the voltage when it is cranking? If it drops low (11V or less) there will not be enough EMF (supply) to allow the coils to operate properly hence no spark.
Also Alexlittle, you may have a dry joint or a high resistance joint causing a voltage drop. You need a voltmeter to trace the circuit measuring voltage at various points until you find the fault.
Luck.

i had such problems and that was my crankshaft position sensor went loose and unscrewed. actually it was not tightened good enough by the guys that helped me with it. note: you should be seeing spark only when the sparkplug is grounded . just to be sure
