Default NO FLAT SPOTS

There were some rumors here that if you let your bike sit on the kick stand for a long period of time then you will develop flat spots on your tires. I thought it was complete bullsh!t and of course I was right. My bike has been in the same spot since November, standing on concrete if that makes a difference.
I finally took it out for a spin and I did not see or feel anything wrong with the tires. So this myth is BUSTED!.........

I did notice some other problems like, i could not hear the fuel pump prime. I did not hear Tsks Tsks Tsks. However, the bike just started up without any problems. Also, the bike was idling at a very low speed of 700rmps, but then i adjusted the idle speed and after 10 mins its was working fine. Not sure the reason why it needed to be re-adujsted. My thoughts were that the battery was getting lazy.

Im up for that challenge, not sure whether I'll do it though, However, my friend did this two years ago. He did not have a chance to use the bike for 11 months. The day that he went to sell it, we examed the bike and did not see anything noticable. He rode the bike for several blocks and did not feel any change in the handling.
May be he did get lucky or may be he had some good tires on the f3 but I wiil no hesitate this year to leave my bike in the same spot for minimum of 6 months.

It's fact. Concrete = Harder than rubber and nylon. If the tire sits on the concrete for too long, it starts to take that flat shape. It happens to cars and trucks also. I've been a tire technician for almost 4 years.

I wouldn't suggest trying it just for the fun of it unless you like throwing money away. If you do succeed in putting flat spots in your tires then you're either going to have to try to wait out the deformity(which isn't good for your safetysince you're dealing with square centimeters of contact patch)or purchase a new set of tires.

I personally don't like to gamble with those two things that are keeping me from kissing the pavement. :shrug That's my $0.02 [sm=icon_guiness.gif]

I got me a bike stand on ebay so I never have to worry about it. I recommend it to everyone.
