Steering dampers dont really affect the lines taken in a corner unless your accelerating hard on exit - the gsxr will handle better as its got better suspension or is more suited to your weight - most bikes are never dialled in to the rider and can handle like ****e until sorted. However, I would agree your lines need sorting and your following a tractor - ignore your mate - overtake him and reride the same road several times and concentrate on improving your entry and exit and speed. I would advise you get yourself to the track instead though - I never get my knee down on the roadeven thoughI raced a Honda 600 for the last3 years... leave your knee in - it looks crap -
