Default HRC Power up Kit

Anyone heard of someone using the HRC power up kit? How much $ and how much of a power increase?

Invest the money elsewhere, like rider training. After that, more rider training THEN a new bike and more rider training.

chill out tugzy...
no need to resort to names...
i met someone at the track who had a fully race prepped F4i with HRC internals...it put out 114 to the wheel. it was very impressive.
he was fast with our without the extra ponies though.

so what training have you had?

if you're planning on racing in the 600 class then i would do some of the HRC mods. If you're looking for a faster bike then it would probably be easier/cheaper to get a litre bike.

The cost for the full kit is about $4000. If you are just looking for an engine upgrade you can do cams, valve springs, cam position sensor, and head gasket for about $1500. It's really nice stuff but it is pricey. I've heard it takes the bike up to 120HP. It is designed for racing though. Running the bike on the street with long duration cams will foul the bike out eventually. The increased compression will inevitably hurt the bikes reliability. If you are going to race or are racing the bike then go for it if you've got the cash.

I've found myself though that just altering final gearing helps immensly with pickup. You can buy a lot of sprockets for $1500. I've found it hard to keep the wheel on the ground just tuning the bike for each track with the sprocket change. I had planned on buying the HRC kit until I discovered this little trick.

Yeah sprockets are a lot cheaper, however 114 to the wheel is rather impressive lol. I don't know if it's $4000 impressive, but pretty cool lol.

I agree with slip - $4000 is a second bike - buy one for the track and abuse it

keep in mind too that $4000 is just parts. You will need someone who knows how to do cam timing, piston to valve clearance checks as well as the machine work invloved in changing valves (seats and valve cutting). Thats going to be some more money. I got a quote from a local guy who wanted $1000 just to mount the valves, cams and do the machining. Didn't include reassembly of the motor.
