I would be more concerned with the age and condition of the tires. Check their manufacture date and if they're more than 3 years old I would seriously consider replacing them ASAP. Otherwise, the main problem with a squared off tire, in my opinion, would be if you allow it to distract you. Being nervous about the condition of your equipment is not conducive to safe or fun riding.
