Default New K&N Filter and FI codes

I got a new K&N air filter, mileage is wonderful now. A few days ago, while riding on the streets my engine shuts off, FI light went on. Now the FI light comes on pretty often, and chokes my bike... sometimes shutting it off.

The codes I get are 1 and 9, which is the MAP and IAT sensor. I check the voltage and resistance on the wires and they seem to be okay except for the MAP part...

The MAP sensors has 3 wires, the green/yellow one is suppose to give me a 4.75-5.25v reading... but i get nothing. I trace the wire back to the ECM and the resistance is good...but for some reason i don't get a voltage reading.

Before I go off and buy another ECM and MAP sensor, what are some other things I should try?

EDIT: also, my old muffler was from a different f4i and had a CAT that rubbed up against the fairings. i just installed a stock pipe w/o the CAT.

update: after resetting the ecm. i did a test run. was all good until the very end when i high throttled, and when the rpm was dropping it hiccuped. I short the circuit to see the code.. and i got NO blinks..... since the bike is operating normally, the service manual says it's a faulty ECM. grrr.

anyone wreck their 2002 f4i and want to just give me an ecm?

I don't know, that sounds kind of weird. The bike was running fine until you installed the air cleaner and an OEM exhaust? What's a CAT?

A CAT is a small furry creature that generally ignores you, craps in a box in the corner of your G/F apartment, and meows a LOT!!! J/K LOL

I think he means Catalytic converter.

yeah... i think it's prolly the ecm. the guy who i bought the bike from lost the rubber strap that holds the ecm in place... maybe it got knocked around a few times too many on the road. also, maybe it's just a coincidence that it happened a few days after i got the new intake filter and muffler.

when i get some free time, ill try to find a place that can fit the catalytic converter in the bike.
