Default New Jersey inspection

Hey guys, I have to inspect my bike this week. I live in Hoboken NJ (if that means anything to anyone) and will be inspecting probably in Secaucus.

I have a used 02 f4i that's got flush undertails and flush front turn signals. The previous owner gave me the stock front turn signals but it seams like it would take effort to put them back on. Anyone have experience with NJ inspections and know if the flush turn signals would pass?

Thanks a bunch

I have never heard any problems with flushmounts.

Some shops can be strict....so are really lenient. I brought my bike to a dealership for inspection and they failed me for tail light modulator and no license plate light....brought it down the street to another shop and they gave me a sticker within 5 seconds of looking at the bike.

Depends on where you go, definitely. Here in Philly, I swear I know of a parking garage which offers inspections when you valet park. It's in Chinatown. There's a sign in the garage offering 'inspection services' while you're parked there

No way in hell they're actually inspecting anything in a parking garage. It's just a sticker service. Amazing the things you discover in Chinatown by having a Chinese girlfriend

I live right around where you live, in Emerson. The state inspection stations will not pass you with an under-tail kit, probably not with the flush front mounts either but i cant say for sure. If you go to Bergen Sport Cycles (formerly Bergen Honda) on 46 they can do an inspection for you. They don't care if you have an undertail kit or anything like that, as long as your lights work and everything is in good shape they will pass you. It will however cost you around $20 if i remember correctly. I went to them because it is too much of a hassle to remove everything and switch back to stock.

Yes, as far as i know if it is a private business certified to give inspections they can charge for it. Otherwise why would any place want to offer inspections?

i got inspected in randolph nj and theyre pretty easy there, dont have to start the bike, just show headlight, taillight, brakes, blinkers and horn works.

when i got the f4i i transfered the plates from the ninja 500 and the inspection sticker is good till may 11, and i told the guy and he said if that plate is registered to that bike it has passed inspection with that sticker on it haha so i wouldnt sweat it to much

VA is 16 dollars no matter what shop you go to, or what kind of vehicle - Car, Bike, Triailer.

When mine runs out next month, I don't plan on getting it inspected again. They can't see the sticker as it is down on the fork tube, and I never go on a military base so why bother.
