Default New Gauge

I just got back from overseas and I took my bike to the local dealer to get it tuned up. Well they called me immediately after working on it and they told me that the gauges are broken. Honda wants to charge me $450 for a brand new one. Well I did a little shopping on the internet and I found that I can get OEM gauges for $250. In the process, I also found some aftermarket gauges that are around $100 more. Koso makes one in particular RX1N . Has anyone ever dealt with aftermarket gauges? Are they hard to install at all? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Not sure if this qualifies, but I installed an Acewell on my scooter because the stock speedo was in chinometers. It was pretty easy; the hardest part was drilling the brake rotor so I could mount the magnet for the speedo pickup (went from cable speedo to electronic). Other than that, it was simply a matter of connecting the wires from the gauge to the correct wires on the scooter. I'd imagine the gauges you speak of are of similar difficulty- somewhere between changing a light bulb and changing the oil...

i think the basic is just plug and play...they have to conect to the stock wiring, because otherwise you'll need a mechanic to install them, if they need wiring modification...
and they haveused gauges on ebay for less then 150$...just go with this IMO
