Okay, I got everything I need to install the LEDs on the pegs. The LEDs I ordered have only 6 inches of wire attached to it, one red one black. I need it to be longer so I wanna go to home depot or radio shack or wherevers and buy a roll of extra wire and connectors.

My question is: do I need to get a certain type of wire? If I were to ask the sales guys for help, what do I ask for? The wire is really thing, same as the ones that are used throughout the bike. Is there a certain gauge size to ask for?

 

18-22 guage should be good enough for leds, but I usually like to use automotive grade wire for tasks like this so its resistant to fuel and other things it might come it contact with being on a bike.

 

+1, i just redid mine last night. I also heat shrinked my wires so the weather wouldn't have any adverse effects on my leds.
