My F4i is drinking gas.
Per the owners manual oil isn't due to be changed till 8000 miles and the air filter not untill 12000.
The only variance I see needed is if you don't ride your bike, oil does start to become aidic and can eat away at the engine.
If you don't ride it enough to get the oil dirty sell it. That's just me. I don't do maintence for the sake of doing maintence.
I own a '98 Honda Accord with 200k on it. The oil gets changed every 7500 miles just like they recommend. I trust the engineers at Honda and their recommendations.
What year is your bike? When I bought an 01' last year it had 2100 miles on it. After about a month I lost mpg, took it on a long good ride, got the engine nice and cleaned out.
Now I'm getting 160 miles before the reserve comes on. Your throttle control and use probibly plays the biggest role. I generally keep my rpms under 6k unless I'm on the hiway.
