You are probably right about owner thinkin you were a cop. Here in indiana there is a law protecting impounds, it states any damage occuring as a result of impound is your responsibility, since you put it in this position to begin with. With that being said we always take care of scratches and dings when they occur, unless the owners is a DICK then he can get bent.

 

There is a special place in Hell for those impound people. I hear they charge you for days they aren't even open. As far as caring for the well being of your property, that is a joke. Sounds like you lucked out, though.

 

I think the real moral is don't get caught doin stupid ****. Otherwise you could end up with Cooter and his insest brother Wilbur slingin your **** behind mator the tow truck.
