planning on doing my oil today. along w/ air filter and plugs. are these only available at bike stores? u think autozone would carry the parts/oils i need?

 

nope tried it b4 and they won't have it...i use the iridium plugs..about $10...stock air filter $47...oil filter $12..and oil Honda HP4 synthetic 10w-40 $7 each

 

You shouldn't use any synthetic oil that has moly.. which is 90% of all synthetics... you can buy a special synthetic from Honda specifically without moly. The reason for this is the clutch. Some kind of slippage issue. You would be fine with conventional motor oil and you should use it to break in your bike... but once you switch you should not switch back.

 

how do u know if it has moly?

 

if it doesn't say that without moly then it does. Honda is the only one I know that carries a synth without moly. Not to say there isn't one out there

 

Motul makes it without moly and it will state whether it has moly or it don't
