Yeah, I was really lucky in a lot of respects...fairings and rest of the bike, minimal traffic, and thus my human body! Definitely looking to install sliders.

Powers739 mentions RTV and threadlock. I understand threadlock...from loctite. But what is RTV? The service manual does not mention either of these so I assume these are just additional recommendations? (Service manual just says "apply sealant to the wire grommet...")

And Berto...yeah, I would've preferred to be in my leather riding pants, but was commuting to/from work that day. Just gotta avoid stupid acts on my part.

Default Found RTV

OK, so I found RTV. For the next "dummy" like me, it is Blue RTV Silicone Sealant/Gasket Maker.

Thanks for all the posts guys...you have helped me save $$ in helping me do the job myself.
