The only thing you have to do is grind off the tab next to the banjo bolt on the new MC. I've read that it gets in the way of your brakel ine routing but haven't actually installed mine yet to verify.

Thanks for that!

The 929 master cylinder is a nice upgrade. Looks pretty awesome too.

However Brembo > 929 > F4I

I too saw that they were the same part number and thought I had hit it lucky!

Its on its way

I dont know about OEM, but the ASV levers (actually what they call the "elbow" ) are different, meaning the f4i will not bolt to the 929rr and vice versa.

^This

Also, there is no need to grind off the tab entirely, just a quarter-half of it. Everything is a direct swap.

I had to sell my 929RR master radial due to the 600RR front end conversion. With the conversion and aftermarket clip ons, the controls are pushed forward; and so the brake banjo bolt on the master cylinder hits the gauge cluster when locking the steering to the left.

The 2008 CBR brake master is very similar to the 929RR, except that banjo bolt is not on the side (like all 03 and previous CBRs) but is on the bottom, thus requiring longer brake lines (and extra 3 inches).

I've done both swaps. Noticed a difference in brake feeling when going from the OEM F4I to the 929RR and no difference going from the 929RR to the 2008 1000RR.

Yes, but there is a $200 price difference too, at least!

If anyone planning this, another great option is the 06-07 1000RR radial master. The 929/954 masters are axial from what I see, but they'd still be an improvement over the f4i axial due to bigger dimensions.
I went with the 1000RR master and it was a relatively easy swap. The master/reservoir doesn't hit the gauge cluster/screen at all, just need to line it up correctly.
Few things need to be taken care of though. The radial will have to go slightly to the right of where the stocker sits. This is because the lever when pulled otherwise would touch the forks. May be not with fluids in but it certainly did without so I decided to be safe. This means the stock switch housing also has to be displaced to the right. To do this you'd have to drill a locating hole on the clip-ons because the switch housing needs one(there's a small pin inside the housing which goes into this hole-that's how it stays in place). Now when you put the throttle back on you'd realize that of course the bar ends can't go in. So I had to get a spacer and then cut half moons on both sides to accept the bar end. So, in the end basically my right clip-on was around-15mm longer in the end-not noticeable at all and the radial was well worth it- looked fantastic, worked awesome and accepted the f4i switch wiring even!
