Default Master Cylinder upgrade (radial/1000rr?)

So I've heard there are a lot of options for upgrading the master but clearance is often an issue. I know the 1000rr will work but I'm not sure if there's a difference between the older and newer (07/08) masters.

Was anyone able to accomplish this with a master that required minimal modification and had a noticeable improvement over stock?

=D post your setups please

I have a 929 MC waiting to go on this weekend (weather permitting). ill be sure to post up a review. Many have done it before with only good things to say about it.

I went with the 929 over others soley because i wanted to keep my hong kong pazzo levers shorty levers. Pazzos website says the part numbers for the F4i and 929 are the same. Well they ARE NOT! So i'll be buying another hong kong brake lever for $30

On one hand im thinking....Serves me right for going with the pazzo knock offs. On the other hand im thinking why pay $160 for true pazzos when their own website has incorrect info.

Not to highjack......

My buddy has real Pazzos on his Buell and his race only R6, and side by side you can not tell the difference. Both claim they are made of 6061-t6 aluminum. can i prove it? no.

Now i will admit after a year my red adjuster has slightly fadded. not pink, but not pure red anymore. the black handle still looks like new.

EDIT:
To the OP try searching Stuntlife.com, hundreds on there have upgraded the F4i's with a better Master and posted results

I just purchased a 929 radial master myself. I ordered a set of the eBay shorty levers from the2wheels for a 929. I already have a nice shorty lever for the clutch but I was hoping the 929 clutch lever would fit my F4i. Does anyone know if it will? I too saw that they were the same part number and thought I had hit it lucky!

Is the 929 really an upgrade over the f4i's?

Yes Madman, it is. The 929 uses a radial master, it translates the brake feel to the lever much better especially when used with braided lines. Just do a search on "radial master cylinder" on google and you will learn all you need to know about the differences.

My F4i has braided lines, would these be the correct length etc etc if I were to upgrade to a 929 MC?

Your braided line lengh will not change, the 929/954 MC will bolt right up on the f4i clipon.
The only thing you have to do is grind off the tab next to the banjo bolt on the new MC. I've read that it gets in the way of your brakel ine routing but haven't actually installed mine yet to verify.
