i'm painting my f4i black, but i want to put some color in the headlights too. li was thinking either red or blue. can anyone tell me where i can get something like that and at what price. also, what's involved with changing them. is it like changing the bulbs in a car or what?

There are some xenon bulbs that have a blue tint to them -- direct replacements for stock for around $15. HID conversion kit will get you more color (8000k is almost purple) but is very expensive $300 - $500. I don't know of any red tinted bulbs.

We just had a whole discussion on this issue on SBN. Bulbs that are colored may not be DOT certified also. What's more is that you may be truncating the beam pattern and thus, visibility on the road with colored bulbs.

Ya, I'll agree with that statement. Regular halogen bulbs that have colored glass tend to put out less light. The xenon bulbs will put out a little more light than stock. The HID's will blow all of 'em out of the water.
