Your bike is on 03, or someone did a lot of work before you bought it...

What he is saying is the 03 had the split seat like yours where the 04 switched to the banana seat. Either yours is an 01-03 or someone did a split seat conversion. Either way the split seat is nicer than the banana seat IMO.

 

Prior to getting my 02, I never noticed the difference. I wasn't a rider. Now, to me it stands out big time and I still don't understand why they switched to banana seat. Was that standard on all f4i's after 03? It just makes it look more like a sport touring.

 

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe they switched over to the banana seat in 04 to help differentiate the difference between the friendly model (f4i) versus the race ready model (RR). Consider yourself lucky to have the 2 step seat as it is much nicer. I am not a fan of the banana seats.

 

in the uk the 01-03 split seat ran along side the banana seat version one was called the f sport and one was just the cbr f, the split seat was there as a bridge untill the RR was brought out at the end of 03

 

you could always throw a cowl on the rear part of the banana seat...makes it look much better...but eh i have an 02 so i have nothing to worry about there haha

Finally stopped raining and decided to get the D80 and take some better pictures of my bike; 2003 F4i. Just got the Competition Werkes fender eliminator installed too.

 

Man!!! What a beaut!! Love that color combo - lookin good.

Can you post a link to where you got your fender eliminator... I thought I had checked on their site and didn't see the F4i option ('course I may be blind). And what exhaust is that, looks great? Did you cut that one down yourself or is it a shorty one?
