I'm a new member.
I hope this is the best F4i forum around the net. I hope to learn a lot of new things about my bike. I been wanting an 01-03 f4i for about 5 years now. I'm 21 years old. I had my motorcycle license for 2 years, and picked up my 02 F4i a week ago! I love her A LOT. I noticed some rattling and thanks to this forum, i now know it's most likely the cctl.. I also may need some front rotors soon, my main/rear seat reupholstered, chain tightened (need spools still), air filter cleaned/replaced, and to flush,replace fluids. Here is some pics of my new baby. I will love her forever. For now she's stock with some basic mods.

Flush mount turn signals
fender eliminator kit
Also looks like aftermarket rear turn signals?

You forgot frame sliders as well
Cant really tell from your pics but yes it looks like non-stock rear signals..I only say that bc I can't see the gi-normous 80's housings! Without even hearing your bike I'd say you 98% have to replace your chattered cctl
My 01 had it when I bought her at only 7k miles! If you go OEM automatic..the part # is 14520-MBW-J24 (version J24) and the gasket # is 14523-MAL-A00.Order from here...

Edit: The part number for the cctl at cheapcycleparts will state J23 but go ahead and get it, they will ship you the latest version J24 ; )

Here is my new baby. Just got her last Friday. 22K miles, new tires, just serviced. She's nothin special, pretty much stock for now. Probably gonna be gettin sliders soon. Then the ape cct next service. Oh an I need a bar end, anyone got one lyin around? lol Gotta say I love this bike. Still getting used the the power of the I4, been riding singles & twins for so long this is gonna take some gettin used to.
