Yea, so the skinny is that there were no cops involved for precisely Aken's reasoning. Phone numbers were exchanged but that's about it. I'm going to chalk it up to a lesson learned. ATGATT and ride safe.

Definitely glad you're ok. Hope you're back on the bike with the quickness.

That's good that you are all right, broke nothing and etc. The road rush is a b**ch. I had my fun sliding on the 4th of July. It was totally my mistake, so nobody was there to blame. Unfortunately I had to call 911 and get to the hospital. Now the cops want some money from me. I'm going to fight it though.

And again, I'm glad you are fine! We are the ones who can learn only from their own experience. Get your bike healed up!

Good post. I'm glad you were smart enough to gear up. The difference between you posting here and living through a straw was that brain bucket.

That sucks, but glad you are okay and alive.

I still would have gotten the insurance information because you just never know, as anything is possible.

How fast were you going?

As for ATGATT, I too had a run in with mister asphalt, and I too had all of my gear on. Now, I ride by one rule, ATGATT no matter how hot, humid or hazy or how short of the ride. I had to buy a second leather jacket and helmet to have as an alternative to sweating out my gear for the really hot days.

Hope the repair won't be too expensive.

Cheers!

Let's just say I was extremely committed to a long, left sweeping 3-lane off-ramp that leads onto another fun section. Not smart.

Nice of you to share your experience. Very good analysis you have given. One important thing is you accept responsibilty for your actions and judgement.

From what you say, a car looking in his mirror to change lane will surely not see you sweeping through.

Thankfully, no serious damage to your person or other road users, and you'll surely come out a better rider and person.

Ride to learn, learn to ride.
