Unhappy Knock? at idle

Sounds like a knock. Doesn't start untill Ive been sitting 15-20 seconds, at a light for example. If you rev it like 2-300 it goes away. Doesnt happen everytime. Sits idling at 13-1400 right now, tried increasing this and decreasing it and it didnt have any affect. Its not consistant enough for me to think bearings or shaft play, for they would do it consistantly almost reguardless of RPM. Only thing Ive done recently is change the oil. First time for me on this bike. Used Mobil 1 filter, and Mobil 1 MT full synthetic 10W-40, but dont see how that could cause it. CCT needs to be replaced, thats on order and doesnt sounds anything like this. Anyone have any thoughts. Oh, mileage: just hit 14,000 on a 01

When did it start knocking? After the oil change? Sure you put enough oil in there?

Yea, Im sure. That was the first thing that I checked. Yes, it started after the oil change, prolly about 100 miles into it, so it wasnt right away.

I switched to a full Synthetic on my first oil change with my F4i and as soon as I did that my bike didn't have a knock but was definetly a lot louder, like I was going to need a valve job soon, after 2500 miles with that Synthetic I switched back to good Honda conventional oil and the difference was night and day.

My bike runs cooler and quieter and it may be a figment of my imagination but seems to pull harder with the conventional.

Oh Yeah and my ride has 14,000 miles on the ticker.

Im going to drain a quart out tomorrow and replace it w/ el cheapo Castrol part synthetic Actevo X-TRA 4T and see if that makes a difference. I got this bike, a 1 previous owner at a dealership w/ 10,000 miles. Just couldnt picture it being something w/ the bottom end w/ only 14,000 on the clock.

Default Knocking

Just had same experience in CBR1100 Blackbird when hot.
Thought maybe I should have changed oil sooner??
Changed the oil - still the same.

Did a search on site below - several people with same issue.
Some said it began 20,000 miles ago!! ! ! ! still drivring it.

I did a search fro 'knocking'

I mechanical guy at work suggested oil pressure ?
I'm going to try a new chain tensioner as they do have a
variable lifespan it seems.
