if you buy one of those ebay deals you still need to carry your old key for removing the seat

also, compare that price to what the dealership can get for a new ignition
that's the only real way to know if it's a deal

So ended up buying this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Now I bought a Torx set to remove the ignition, but to no avail couldnt get the dam thing off. Even bought a Hex set just in case. After looking at the bolt a little more, it really has no gruves or shape other than its round. So still stuck on how the hell to get the dam thing off! HELP

You may have one way bolts in there?I suggust remove the clipons and remove the upper tripple clamp so you can have more room to mess with it.

You can also drill a hole in the center of it and use a srcew extractor to remove the bolts.

Default possible fix

Hey my key wouldn't turn this morning either. after about 10 min of fiddling with it i repeatedly inserted the key (like the way you would clean the inside of a pipe with a wire brush) and it loosened up... works fine now. Hope this helps

Default better description of what i did...

Maybe a better description of what i did is i pumped the key in and out fairly quickly four or five times.
