Installed Sportech chrome windscreen, very disappointed
Could you put the nuts completely under the windshield (Not run them through the holes) - Hold them with tape and run the screws in. - Then the plastic would be forced directly against the front fairing - I would think they'd hold equally well... - May be easier than beating on them for a correction, and look just as good...

May have to replace the bolts with slightly longer ones though.
Update: Greg at Sportstech responed to my Email, & asked about the specifics of my application. I sent them, along with mycvil's proposed mounting method. This was his response:
Jason,
That is in fact one recommended method of mounting. You might try turning the rubber grommet over so that the treaded end is closer to the screen to avoid running out of screw length.
I certainly understand your perspective Jason, and I can assure you that most other aftermarket windscreen manufacturers face the same problems. Your stock windscreen is formed by what’s called injection molding. This allows for limitless details that are always consistent. Our forming methods and those of our competitors simply do not allow that degree of detail to be formed. The aftermarket solutions are typically substantially cheaper tooling designed for lower volume (when compared to OEM production numbers) and as a result, we (the aftermarket) can offer cool products at an affordable price but occasionally at the expense of perfection.
Please keep me posted on your progress. I’ll help however I can.
Thanks for getting back to me.

I recently installed a sportech vflow in black chrome and love it. Fit and finish were perfect. Was yours the standard version or the double bubble vflow type?

I am also very picky and I got a windscreen with the exact same problem. As soon as I noticed I stopped, put the stock one back on and gave that POS away. Anyone know a company that acually makes one that fits like stock?

I've got the sportech too and at first I was so upset and I hated it. On mine there is even a larger gap at the bottom where it comes to a "V". I just got over it but every once in a while I look at it and it still bothers me. Whenever I ask at a dealership or contact a manufacturer I always get the same response. Well thats what happens when you order aftermarket parts you never know. /shrug
