Default How to pull battery

I have a 06 F4i... it says in the manual I have to disconnect the ECU before I remove the battery?!? Isn't it just like a car battery where I can just unplug it? How do I get that plastic shrouding off of it?

thanks!

The battery can be unplugged without disconnecting the ECU. The plastic cover can be unsnapped by pulling on the plastic pins. Then, disconnect the positive, negative and pull the battery up. For safety, I usually use electric tape and tape each terminal so they won't make contact with the metal frame or each other.

Good luck.

There's a hole under the battery to push up on it if you can't pull it up from the top, btw.

The manual probably recommends disconnecting the ECU because it sits directly on top of the battery. Just an ease of use thing.
