How do you pull the plugs?
Well I got the fairings/radiator/tank/airbox removed. At this point I am not sure what to remove in order to get to the plugs. This just seems like a really tight fit. Is there a trick to do this and do I need to pull off the carbs as well?
You almost need little kids hands to get the plugs out. Pull off the tank, and the push away that black plastic that hugs around the front of the tank (that snaps into the side of the tank). Pull the coils off the top of the plugs (these are where the small hands come into play). Wiggle those off, and then to get the plugs out, your best bet is to use the plug wrench that is in the tool kit with the bike (I went and bought this wrench cause I had no tool kit). You cannot get in from the top with an extension and a plug socket. You need a style of socket that slips under the area of the frame and almost has the extension sticking out of the side (a little shaft to turn the plug wrench). Look at like www.servicehonda.com for a picture of the wrench in the microfische of the bike tool kit. I have found this way works. Be prepared to rip up your hands on this one. Peace
there a bitch....kids hands would be great...get that wrech above if you dont have one you, will need it. I pulled mine today, figured I would replace them why I cleaned the carbs.
Anyone know the prefered model and gapping for the spark plugs for the 1999 CBR 600F4? I'm cleaning my carbs and figure I may as well do my plugs while I'm in there. Any preferences on air filters?
Thanks,
Jason
