How do you turn your bike off?

If I remember right, MSF taught us to always use the kill switch. Correct me if I'm wrong. So since then I've been doing it.
But the manual's got a point there...so may reconsider...

the manual just like it says, warns not to use it because of the battery. you are basicly making the eletrical stay on when you flip the kill switch vs the lights turn off ect one you turn the key off THAT IS THE ONLY DIFFRENCE. so if you flick the kill switch then turn the key it's exactly the same outcome. if you have a super bad battery i might recomend the few seconds diffrent that the light stays on but safty > 1millamp of battery juice and most of us ride new enough bikes to not ever worry about the battery draining from leaving the light on for 3 seconds while we reach to turn the key off.
Kill switch, then the key.
The kill switch also comes in handy when you pullup next to your buddy and reach over and flip it at a red light. Especially if he is a key guy, and "never touches his kill switch". Lots of horn beeping later - he'll figure it out.

in the msf class here in california they teach you first that you have to turn the kill switch off then turn the key to the off position... i dunno thas just what they teach.

ill flip the kill switch if the fan is on just to let it stop on its own, i know its not doing anything cept cooling the radiator since the coolant isnt flowing.
