Default How do you turn your bike off?

So I'm reading thru the owners manual, and it says to turn the bike off using the key and to never touch your kill switch. This will save the battery life. Wondering if anyone does this... and if I should start doing it this way...

I usually use the kickstand to kill the engine when I roll up to a stop, then turn and lock the key

ill flip the kill switch if the fan is on just to let it stop on its own, i know its not doing anything cept cooling the radiator since the coolant isnt flowing.

I usually just put the kickstand down since i always park my bike in first gear anyway just to be safe from it trying to roll.

If I remember right, MSF taught us to always use the kill switch. Correct me if I'm wrong. So since then I've been doing it.

But the manual's got a point there...so may reconsider...

I haven't touched my kill switch in months. I don't see much use for it

In addition to other reasons, using the key is a good habit to get into ... many a dude have used other methods and as a result, one time forgotten to take their keys with'em which didn't end up happily. Using the key is like a double check reminder to take the key out.

it hit the front brake hard and stall out. then i take out the key. off is off. i dont think it matters how it shuts down as long as you dont let your battery run too long.
