Hot start issue (drains battery)
Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.
my 2001 f4i has killed about 4-5 batteries now. The story is always the same, new battery, bike works great, except when i try to start it when hot (over 130F on the gauge). usually i can get 1-2 successful hot starts on a fresh charge but eventually it always drains the battery from hot starting. If i wait for the bike to cool to around ambient temp, it will (generally) start with little or no fuss--assuming the battery is charged. A mechanic friend of mine has hypothesized that it could be the starter solenoid or solenoid relay, as sometimes when they go bad they start to draw ridiculous amps (100s or 1000s).
I have replaced the rectifier/regulator.
I want to know how to test my new rectifier/regulator to ensure it is good, and also the starter solenoid relay. I downloaded a PDF of the service manual but i have not been able to find the Ohm values that are within spec and also which wires to test.
Can someone help me out?

I can't help you with the starter solenoid part, but here is a flowchart for diagnosing your RR, stator and wiring harnesses. Make sure you charge your battery before you go through it

I took a look at my manual and it looks like there is a white 3 pin connector to test the regulator rectifier. You need to test the battery charging line by checking the battery terminal charging line red/white (+) wire and ground (-) battery voltage should register. Test Charging coil line yellow and yellow wire it should register 0.1-1.0 omhs and the ground line green wire and ground and continuity should exist.
If we have the same manual it's page 16-9
Hope this helps a little.
