Honda CBR F4I Tach & Speedo Bounching
Hello, I am stumped on this problem. The tach needle is rapiding bouncing and the speedo is intermittently just displaying #'s. When I blip the throttle there is no response with the tach.
Turn the ignition to the on position and this is what happens.
I have the service manual and all the voltages/ continuity checks out fine.
Have a Short video if need be. I don't have any spare gauges or ecm's to rule anything out. Any thoughts?
Thanks

lets see a video, but i'd be guessing an issue in the harness going to the gauge itself, probably near the lower steering head or something? i see a lot of older sportbikes with mis-routed harnesses that get pinched and beat up during steering.. and remember, you can have continuity but fairly high resistance (like a wire with barely a strand left intact)
failing that, you'd have to figure the dashboard itself has failed, but i've never run into that.

Seeing the video I'd have to agree with rfesu that there is a pinched wire or bad connection somewhere, and there is errant voltage being sent up and erratically read by the gauge. Does it do the same thing when the bike is off, but the ignition is turned to on?
e.g., does it do the "prime and self check" sequence from OFF -> ON properly before you start it?
