Default Highway Speed

Hey guys i took my bike out on the highway and up to speed for the first time today. Once i got up to about 70 or 80 my bike seemed kinda wobbly and unsturdy. Kinda like when ur in ur car on the highway and u get behind a tractor-trailer and ur car stacks. Is this normal for CBRs and is there anyway to fix it?

how good of condition is ur bike in? If you just got it out of storage for the winter then there could be several things that could make ur bike wobble

My bike feels better at 100K than it does at 50K. At 200K there is NO noticeable "wobble". (I've had it since new and have never had an accident). There must be something wrong with your bike. I suggest that you get it checked out by a proper mechanic before you kill yourself!

Something is wrong! The f4i is stable well into triple digits! Check your tires, including pressures. Was the road channel-cut for drainage? Has your bike been crashed? Brakes ok, warped rotors? Do you have a death-grip on the bars? Relax!!! The f4i is an honest and sweet machine, she will take care of you unless something is very wrong.

smooth as butter at speeds >110 after which some fairing air turbulence kicks in. however a lot of the freeway pavement near where I live is not smooth, so in those parts the bike will bounce a little. If it wobbles though you have issues that need solving.

Sounds to me like you need your bike looked over. Like these guys have all said, the F4i is rock solid at high speed...its a race bike. To be honest though, mine felt like that for me the first few times I went on the highway, but it wasn't a problem with the bike, I just wan't use to it. It could just be because it was your first time. What all can you tell us about your bike specifically? Anything replaced in the past, ever wrecked, how is your suspension set?

I just got the bike about a month ago its my first. Its an 02 and as far as i know it was never wrecked and is completly stock. And it looks to be in almost new condition. I had checked the air pressures and they were about 10 psi below what the manual calls for. But the tires don't look under inflated. So i thought maybe they were different tires and need different psi. I was on the interstate and its concrete so i think there are rain grooves in it. I was around 70 before on back roads and it seemed fine but that wasn't for a long periods of time. I'll have to check the rotors tomorrow to see if they're warped but i don't think they are cuz the brakes don't chatter when braking. It wasn't an extreme wobble it was kinda felt like wind turbulance. IDK Maybe i was just thinking too much.

check your rims. i know if you rims happen to be dented along the bead then that will cause a small head shake. even if you tires are under inflated 10 psi wont make a huge difference on the highway like your saying. you might want to check the suspension in the front as well. make sure they are both adjusted the same.

10psi under? That's completely dangerous. Get those tires filled up ASAP.
