I personally love my hi mount 2 Bros. I just think it looks better. I did have to remove my rear pegs, so no passengers, but hey, that's ok with me... I can mount them back on using a longer bolt and some spacers, but just haven't had the time or desire to do so.

I think that this is really just a matter of choice and what YOU like best. What kind of a rider are you? Do you carry a passenger often? I really can't see why there would be any pros/cons as far as performance goes with either one, it's just a cosmetic thing. My advice is to look at other peoples bikes with similar exhausts on them and go with what you prefer. good luck!

Only one thing that I will say about the hi mount on mine is that i do not like the fact that my heel hits the midpipe. I now have marks on my midpipe from the bottom of my boot that are darn near impossible to remove. Once riding season is done here in MN, I will remove it and polish it back up and put a guard there so that it doesn't happen again.

I think the standards do provide more power. Granted, a new pipe will only increase HP by 4-6, but better the 6 than the 4, right? The angles in the high mount make it lose a little... the straighter the better for exhaust!

Pro and Cons

High Mount....

Pros
Looks GREAT!!!
Good ground clearance for cornering.
Cons
Hot for the passenger, if it allows you to keep the rear pegs.
May eliminate the rear passenger option.
May be a bit more expensive
Will gain less HP due to the additional bends in the midpipe (not sure how noticeable this would be)

Standard mount...
Pros
Looks good (better than stock)
Easy to install
Usually a little cheaper in cost.
Retain all passenger capabilities
Full power gain
Cons
Everyone has one
Same cornering clearance as stock

These are my opinions, I run a standerd mount D&D slip-on. I love it, My wife rides with me all the time, so I did not go with the highmount. Now she just complains about the sound.....D&D=very loud.
