HID question??
woiuld i be able to use HID's off a car on the bike without melting the plastic headlights,or messing up my battery? i have the balance (i think thats what its called) and a bulb out of a car. no i did not steal them. i work at a car dealership and we were gonna throw out a headlight but i saw it still had all the HID equipment,so i took them out. If it cant be done on the bike i'll try to get another HID "kit" and put them in my car,but id really like them on the bike.

RE: HID question??
As long as the bulb fits your bike (H7 I think) you're good to go. For HID you need bulb, ballast and ignitor. Sometimes the ballast and ignitor are in the same box. If I were you I'd test out the stuff I had before installing -- would suck to get it all in and find out it doesn't work.

RE: HID question??
Yea, as long as its H7, no, it shouldn't melt the headlight housing, unless you have aftermarket housing n is made from cheap cheap stuff. Otherwise your fine. But the kits from a car is the same as ones for the bike. 5k to 7k is suppose to give you the best lighting, but the color isn't as cool...i have purple headlights in my car, don't give you the best light output, but looks damn hot..

a true HID system shouldn't give you any problems -- it's replaceing the factory bulb with a high-wattage 'look-alike' that tends to cook wires and housings.

i have h7 110w bulbs in my f4i, do you think that will give me any problems? I hear some bikes take it better then others, but is there a known problem for honda bikes to do this? For instance my friend having the same bulbs in his sv650 has had no problems with a higher wattage bulb.

RE: HID question??
That's a D2R bulb, made for cars with reflector style HID headlamps. Youre gonna need something known as 'rebased' bulbs. Check out hidplanet.com, or ebay to buy them. You may not be able to get them to work with the ballasts you have though.
I would suggest selling what you have on ebay or hidplanet, then using the money to buy an h7 kit you can use.
