Hid ?
I have 35w HID's i ordered from xenetec. The 55w i hear can get really hot and potentially melt the housing. Ive installed over 25-30 sets on friends and familys cars and theyve all been 35w except a friend who ordered 55w for his fogs and it did melt the housing
There is a huge difference between 55w/35w in heat and when i say huge i mean it. With just the bulbs running open on the plastic reflector there was a little warping on the one with 55w.
Please take this with the fact this is only my opinion and real life sampling on my part. Your results may vary.
If you are talking about the Temperature rating then your correct as for brightness in kelvin. but with ddmtuning there is no 55W or 35W bulb there is just a 60W bulb, then if you want it to put out 35W you use the 35W ballast and if you want 55W then you use the 55W ballast.
