well that's where i purchased the hids from. 55w h7 6000k. Should i return or try to sell this kit and purchase the 35watt bulbs?

As stated, it is not the bulbs that are brighter, it is the balasts. You would have to buy a whole new kit. The bulbs are rated up to 60W but the balasts output either 35W or 55w depending which option you choose. It will not melt anything or produce too much heat, that is silly talk, but it will be blindingly bright! Install the kit, if it is too bright, buy a 35W kit and swap out the balasts then sell the 55W kit on eBay or something.

+1

Everyone talks about the 55W melting the lens but no one has every seen it in person.
I am pretty sure the halogens get hotter then the HID's and they dont melt anything.

The halogens get way hotter than the HIDs.It is simple...

Energy going in to the halogen bulbs = 65W minus the output of light which = bugger all and you get lots of heat

Energy going in to the HIDs = 55W minus half a suns worth of light = very little heat

When the energy being put in is converted to light, it cannot also produce heat. Therefore, more light = less heat and less light = more heat. The energy has to be used somewhere.

I have had the 35w ddm's in my Pathfinder Foglights for over a year now and always have them on and nothing has ever melted

Sounds good.

F3 (I always want to put F4 ) has a build thread where he talked about some $35 ebay HIDs - saved me half of the $70 I was planning to spend when I just ordered these.

Hope they work for you.. They don't look like slim ballasts if you were planning on them.
I always get nervous on china products when they arent gretaly reviewed.
I have had 3 sets of ddm for the past year and all of them work great.
