Help relocating lock under seat
Hi guys, I am new to pretty much everything about riding. I got a 2001 Honda CBR600 F4i a couple weeks ago, and I just bought a new undertail kit on ebay, and I guess you get what you pay for. There are no installation instructions, and I am absolutely stumped on how to relocate the cable for the lock. The guy who owned before me had put a fender eliminator kit on it, and that thing had some mounting hardware for it, but the location it was in wont work. Also, the system that the fender elminator used to hold the lock to the tail wont work with this undertail either. Basically I don't know where to mount the cable, and I don't know how to get the lock to stay. Thanks guys.

RE: Help relocating lock under seat
Not sure what kind of undertail you got or where the lock is located but I'll fill you in on what type of prefab I did to get my undertail to fit andlook likeI wanted it to.I bought somevery thinaluminum fromhardware store(check the gutter section) and cut a piece that was long enough to mount my plates. Drilled someholes to mount to the tail(I did flush mounted signals and tossed the fender andstocks) did a little bending and filing down to make it look perfect and coated it with carbon fiber tape. With left overaluminum I cut about a 2 inch by 2inch sheet anddrilled a holefor the lock. Put lock thru undertail and file or adjustyour cutto ensure lock is secure...done. I had to cut the original cable to make it smaller and soder together.
Sound alot worse then it really is. Also hard to tell you how to relocate without knowing what your working with.

I made a home made FE and just drilled a hole for the lock, gluedthe lockin place with some epoxy, and then zip tied the cable to the bar in the rear seat area really tight. I've had it done for months and it works great. I'll try and get some pics for you.
