Help with passenger grab bar

Default Help with passenger grab bar

I need help I just got my Competition Werkes Fender Elim. in and when I took the caps off the grab barsscrews I realized they were striped can some1 please tell me how to get these off without messing up anything cuz after I install it I wanted to put the bar back on but if I have to I will leave it off

Its killing me cuz im the type of person that when I order something for my bike I like to go ahead and install it

u can go to sears and they sell a tool to take striped screws out. i was skeptical of the tool at first but after using them they really work.

You could use an easy out, and order news bolts.

I don't think he broke the bolt.....he stripped the threads

You could do two things:
drill the next size up bigger hole & retap it & get a larger bolt to fit those new threads
or
drill it out a lil' bigger (per the directions) & use a heli-coil & it'll use the same bolt

the grabrail is held on by allen bolts. thier pretty tight and if i remember right you can't get at em with vise grips. maybe some pb blaster would help loosen em up. spray it on and let it sitovernight or something

Oh if he stripped the head of the screw then yeah use a screw extractor and it'll pull it right out.
You drill a little hole (it says what drill bit to use on the package) and then it threads in backwards and magically pulls it out.....they work awesome!!!

Then just get a new bolt from the dealer...should only be a $1 or $2
