did you check your plugs? sounds like it's misfiring. a coil may be crapping out. look for oil in the tubes where the plugs are. oil in there, from the valve cover leaking, can cause misfires.

the only parts i can think of that would need removed or at least moved, is your gas tank (can be held up with bungie/tie straps, i suggest remove the two forward bolts in the tail) and the airbox...while you are in the airbox, you might as well check the filter as you'll be in there to pull the airbox anyways.

its a pain to get them out, if its neglected getting the boots off is a task in itself.
basicly prop the tank up, remove the airbox, and grab a 16 mm deepweld socket.
some sort of spark plug socket would work great or something magnetic (not sure if that would be a bad thing)
to remove the plug, i crammed some electrical tape in my deep weld to pick the plug up,
had a 2 inch extension then a 3/8's to 1/2 inch drive which i took off the 1 inch adapter when
i was pulling the plug out, you'll need that extra space.
check this video out, its fairly simple but cramped space making it a pain.
