Default help with fuel pump please

Hey, I browse the forums often but this is my first time posting. I have a 06 f4i with around 6000 miles. Heres the problem, when i turn the key on i am not hearing the fuel pump priming. Everything else works, headlights, turn signals and the bike will turn over it just wont start. The other threads i have read have all seemed to have the Brights and turn signals stuck on on the display, but mine are not. If i toggle the kill switch off and on a few times i can hear a relay clicking towards the back of the back. What should i start with to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.

I had the exact same problem (based on your symptoms of course). Your problem is one of two major things- the first is that your fuel pump itself has failed, or the second (and more likely I believe) is that you have an electrical problem. In my case, I ended up starting all the way at the front of the bike and checking every connection all the way back to the fuel pump itself- turned out that the ground wire from the pump had fallen off its mount! I would probably suggest starting from the fuel pump itself and checking connections from there out- make sure you have a multimeter!

the pump will not turn on if the kill switch is off......when you turn the key to on, all the lights on the guage will turn on for a few seconds and then only the N green light and the red light to the left of it will remain lit.....

the owners manual will tell you not to use the kill switch to shut off your engine...is your bike starting up fine? if so, just read the owners manual and all seems to be normal.

If you hear the relay clicking in the tail and still no priming it is most likely that your fuel pump has completely failed. It's a pretty easy fix, and a used one off Ebay or what not is only like 80-100 bucks.

Try jumping the fuel pump straight from the battery before ruling it out as scrap.

I figured it out, thanks for all the help though. It was a pink wire that was in pretty rough shape right beside the battery. Thanks everyone.
