Default Helmet Question

Hi, I just wanted to see hoe you guys clean your helmets. I just bought an expensive Shoei and i would hate to mess up the paint. To clean the dead bugs off my old helmet I just used windex or a glass cleaning wipe that I use for my car...Is this ok?

Use soap and hot water only. It could mess up the paint if you use anything else. I used glass cleaner on my faceshield and it took the anti fog right off of it. Needless to say 70 dollars later and I have a new face shield on.

you can use the soap and water cause that works good, but using S100 detail+wax is even better. You can clean your bike, you can clean your windshield, mirrors, u name it, it pretty much cleans it. Best part is that it waxes it for you also. soap and water would look good but if you want that just waxed look, even with a black helmet, S100 is the way to go. I use it on anything for my bike

I use Honda Pro spray cleaner. Not sure about the anti-fog situation. I wasn't aware of any helmets that come with anti-fog shields...

I have a shark helmet. Great helmet I would recommend it. Very comfortable but the only problem is there not very popular here in the US. I only know of one place that sells the shields. I bought the helmet on ebay. But anyways you can get there face shields with anti fog they work great. I used dirtex to clean my face shield and it peeled the anti fog right off.

The safest thing i'd say would be a mild soap (like dish soap) and warm water... Windex is a bad idea, but in my experience, Rain-x works well for the face shield, keeping water beading to a minimum, and keeping everything nice and clean.
