Default Good Deal?.. what do you think?

i picked up my bike for $2400. It has a salvage but rebuildable title. there was a crash cage on it and it took alot of the slide. what are the chances that something was damaged in the laydown? Are there fairly common 'problems' that occur when its layed down (assuming he was doing 60 max :/ we hope).

Miles: 9800
Layed down. The only visable damage is;

crash cage has road rash, fairing are scratched, turnsignal cracked, brake lever snapped. Frame doesnt have a road rash scar. either does the muffler. Seems smooth to 50mph, brakes are good. There is a small noise in the engine(i think top end) or around the area that has a vibrating sound when i give it some gas. I have the fairings off so it cant be them rattling. Anyone know what that could be?

I hope i got a good deal. im gonna get it checked out if i cant find some soultion before i get to ride. THanks guys!

You didn't say what year. It's impossible to say what kind of damage it may have suffered. If it has a stunt cage, it probably hasn't exactly been babied. Wouldn't be my first choice of bike to buy. In fact, I wouldn't buy a stunter at all because there are so many choices on the market.

But $2400 is a good price, assuming nothing serious is broken.

its a 2001.. the guy said that he 'didnt' stunt and that the cage was more for protection... dont know if i believe him 100%. In all honesty i looked at some 'salvage' bikes... and mine is in FAR better shape then some of those.

I wouldn't stress about the cage alot of people buy them for protection for regular riding. Anyways when your bike falls the handle bars hit so maybe check the alignment of the wheel when your riding. Check for cracks or weak clipons. With that cage there can't be too many things.
