RE: Getting sore neck from my 2001 F4I
Thanks, this is all great info
I focused on relaxing my shoulders and neck on my commute to work this morning. Trying to get 'Zen' about it
I think it made a bit of difference but my ride is only 15 minutes so it's too early to tell.
I do put weight on my wrists but my elbows are fairly loose. I can wiggle them.
I tend to get sore even cuising around <65 km/h. Would wind blast be much of a factor even at these lower speeds?
Man I'd love to be able to ride 6 hours. I'll get there one way or the other!

Yeah I was sore on mine at first too. Most of it will pass as your body gets used to the ergos. Also you can decrease bending the neck and back by scooting all the up to the tank when possible. This allows you to sit a bit more upright. I used to scoot all the way to the back of the saddle and it caused me to bend over more. One other thing, safety/road permitting while riding slow I'll sit straight up and rest my left arm on the tank for a bit.

I'm getting the hang of it a bit better. Now I'm at the point where my neck and shoulders don't get soar at all due to keeping my back straighter and trying to keep weight off my neck.
Did an hour and a half (in two parts) riding yesterday and the only part of me that got soar was my lower back.
I don't have a great lower back in the first place but i'll give it more time and see if I can keep getting better.

Like anything if you do it enough your body will adapt and you will get better.
Obviously riding requires more muscle than driving. Riding a sportbike requires even more. Strech before and after rides and in a couple weeks you will notice the same distace dosent faze you at all.
Crunches and back extensions will build your core to the point that riding dosent stress you at all.
