never had a battery problem before. the other day i accidentally left my key on for a few minutes while i ran inside to take care of some reading[8D]and when i came out the bike would barely turn over. it was 93-95F and i had been riding around slowly at low revs to scrub in my new rear tire. i ended up push starting the bike before the battery was completely dead. rode around at high revs for a while and now shestarts just fine. i guess my stator wasn't charging my battery at those low revs and leavin the key on didn't help matters[8D]

how often should you use the battery tender? because the previous owner said he put a new battery in my bike before I bought it, but the battery has been nothing but problems for me. When I would leave the bike "on", but the engine off for about 10 seconds, I would have to push or jump start the bike because there wouldn't be enough juice left in the battery.

That doesn't sound like a battery problem. Could be either a charging problem or you have something else draining the electrical system. Most cases the culprit is an idle that's set too low.
