gauge problem

Default gauge problem

im haveing this weird problem. i just pulled the gauges off my bike and now sitting here with no power to them the tack reads about 1600rpm anyone know what could be going on?

Double check the connectors,you have to hear that click sound.Maybe one of the pins popped back out,but they are in there real tight.I would detach battery cable and disconnect gauges again and start all over.

Also wait bout 5 mins or so before reconnecting battery.Oh and check your fuses,that never hurts to look for blown fuse.

Your power wire for the gauges is the red/green for positive.

do they work fine when they have power?

Last i knew they were working fine i got them from a friend and they were good. i still havnt connected them to power because i didnt want to put them on if they were messed up. mine got all busted up.
Is there a way to put power to them without putting them on the bike?

Is there a way somthing in the gauges could be messed up? like an internal plug i cant see why it would show almost and idle speed with no power?

You mean the needle is resting at 1600? I did the LED mod on several gauges and if you move it around the needle spins to random places on the tach. Once you hook it up to power though, it should reset back to 0. If not, all you have to do is take off the cover and pull out the needle. Then re insert the needle back at the 0

cool thanks i thought that might be it but wasnt sure. didnt want to hook it up and have to take it all apart again
