gas tank removal

Default gas tank removal

hey guys, the title is pretty straight forward, i need to get my gas tank off. i'm trying to get it painted and i want to save as much money as possible. i tried seaching this siteand the manual and the web but i can't really find anything that will help me out. if you can help or got any how to or DIY links that would be great. thanks

oh btw, i am only having trouble with the fuel pump part. i know i am going to spill a little gas but i dont want to break my fuel pump and i want to not buy anything else for this project.

can you hit me on any of the chat clients listed in my profile? you're making this much harder then it is!

i dont see how you could break your fuel pump by removing the tank.. the pump is inside the tank.. just undo the vacuum lines & the main bolt that hooks the main gas line.. this is when you will get gas flowing out & possibly make a mess.. use your thumb to cover it as soon as you can get the bolt off...

^Basically what he said, there are about 6 or 8 8mm bolts that holds the pump to the tank, just unscrew all of them and it will come out easily.
