I got quoted 300ish to repair the dent in the tank my f4i came with. A lot of the body shops around here actually wouldn't touch it- they said it's too touchy with the double walls and they can't get their standard equipment in there, so I had to find someone who specialized in it.

Maybe you already know this but the heat can do that. Don't know where you live or the weather conditions and its possible a person came by and did it but gas level, breather hose clogging, heat, etc can cause the tank to dent on its own.

Not sure you're gonna get a decent one for $100 on ebay. I just bought one in perfect condition for $225. The new part is $500 or so.

I just did a quick search and found four. One has a buy-now price of $89, but looks a little rough. Might be OK.

I would be inclined to not repair the dent. My tank got dented same as yours--unknown cause. A very good motorcycle paint shop fixed and painted it. Great job. A year later, the patch popped out and it leaked. Fixed it again for free. Four months later, patch popped again.

So I bought a used tank. It was worth it.

Too bad you didn't have an F4, I have a mint condition tank just sitting in my garage.
