I just bought a 2002 F4i with 1800 miles on it. Last night I noticed a little pool of liquid coming out of 1 of 3 rubber tubes under the bike. I moved the bike to a different spot to see if it will leak out more overnight. Sure enough this morning there was another small pool under the bike. I thought it was oil at first but than I ran my finger on 1 of the rubber tubes and the liquid coming out was pinkish/ redish in colour, which made me think it was gas. Is it normal, did I overfill the tank? I filled it up last till that metal bar under the gas cap. Pleace help, I just bought the bike and really worried. Thanks.

 

i have the same thing altho it smells like gas but looks a little oily as well my mechanic says its nothing to worry about

 

I would get a second opinion. I am not a mechanic by any means but I have owned my 02 F4i for 3 years and it has 22,000 mi. on it, and I have never had anything leak from anywhere. ***knock on wood***

its normal thats your overfill/waste tubes, itll get whatever is in there out, i usually only notice wet spots if i turn it on and then turn it off quickly or if i let it sit there and run and then turn it off...

 

thats what i figured they were its always after i fill up with gas that night or what ever same stuff on a dirt b ike
