Why would gas be leaking from my breather tube?

Would it be a issue if i just closed the tube off so it stopped leaking? Id imagine thats a dumb question though. lol thanks for any help!

PS its on a old F2.

 

I have the same problem on my F3 right now. Took off the tank to change the air filter and now the breather tube is leaking and the bike will not turn over.

 

Well mine turns over. Check your battery connection. I had the problem before where i took off the tank and after it wouldnt fire back up. I just had to tighten the connection.

Any ideas as to why it might be leaking?

 

I had a similar problem on my F4. A needle valve in the carb stuck, causing gas to overflow. The overflow ran into some vacuum hoses that connect to carb and went into the intake and breather. It was running poorly, really rich, and then stalled. So, that could be it, but the F2 might not be setup the same.

 

That might be it cause i thought it was fixed but it just keeps happening. Im going to have to rip into everything again and clean my carbs once more. I may just wait till i get my jet kit though.
