First you will need lots of patience,second if you don't have a manual I strongly suggest getting one that has a colored wiring diagram to help you.I Would start by looking at all the connectors involved to the the wires and see if they are burnt.If not then you'll have to remove the tape around the wires and look at everyone very closely for any bare wires and just tape them.
