Fuel Tank Nipples. Where Do They Connect?

Changed my spark plugs and air filter today...first time I have looked under the tank. Noticed 2 nipples on the rear of the tank that had no hoses connected to them. One is a small vacuum hose sized nipple and the other is a bit larger. What are these supposed to connect to?

The smaller hole is for the air vent hose, the bigger one is for fuel overflow. The air vent hose pulls air into the tank as the fuel gets sucked out. The overflow dumps fuel if u overfill or collected rain from under your gas cap. The hoses other ends dont connect to anything, they're only there to route fluid away safely to the ground
